An Incredible Lens, Featuring
Outstanding Image Quality
Refreshed Canon 500mm super-telephoto lens
The EF 500mm F/4L IS II USM features lighter weight and higher durability over it's predecessor. Two fluorite lens elements have been added that should also afford
better quality of images over the previous version.
Additionally, the new lens offers a feature pointed at
HDSLR photographers, which Canon labels "Power Focus". This function provides manual focusing to be smoothly operated by rotating a playback ring normally employed for the focusing preset mode. Both low and high-speed focusing shift are possible.
These great improvements become available at a substantial cost though. and will be available, in May 2011.
The 500mm F/4L will sell for $9,499.00
Succeeding the widely-respected EF 500mm F/4L IS USM and EF 600mm F/4L IS USM, the EF 500mm F/4L IS II USM and EF 600mm F/4L IS II USM are being developed for photographers who require high performance, fast aperture and a longer focal length.
