Twin Lens Reflex CameraSeagull GC 104 (TLR) with Built-in 75mm f/3.5 Lens. The Seagull GC-104 is an inexpensive introduction into the world of medium format photography. This non-metered classically-styled twin-lens reflex camera is patterned in the time-honored design of older Yashicamats. Its lightweight simple design consists of a waist-level finder with pop-up magnifier, manual film wind advance and separate shutter speed and aperture levers.

The built-in (non-interchangeable) 75mm f/3.5 Seagull lens produces surprisingly pleasing results. In addition to shooting in the 6 x 6cm format, the camera is supplied with a 6 x 4.5cm format mask which fits inside the camera and allows the photographer to obtain 16 exposures from 120 film. The mechanical lens shutter design provides flash synchronization at all speeds up to 1/300 second and there is also Bulb exposure.

This camera also features a cold flash shoe and PC terminal for external electronic flash connection. For the budget-conscious 35mm photographer interested in trying a medium format camera, the Seagull GC-104 should be considered as an interesting alternative. • Buy the Seagull GC104 Camera

Seagull GC 105 TLR Camera

Twin Lens Reflex CameraSeagull GC 105 twin lens reflex camera with built-in 75mm f/3.5 lens. The Seagull GC-105 is the second of three cameras in the Seagull medium format roster. Like the GC-104, this non-metered classically-styled twin-lens reflex camera is patterned in the time-honored design of older Yashicamats. Its lightweight simple design consists of a waist-level finder with pop-up magnifier, manual film crank advance and separate shutter speed and aperture levers.

The GC-105 includes the same built-in (non-interchangeable) 75mm f/3.5 Seagull lens but also includes a brighter f/2.8 viewing lens that helps make focusing easier. The GC-105 also has a split-image focusing screen (not included in the GC-104). Please note that the GC-105 is only for the 6 x 6cm format and does not contain the additional 6 x 4.5cm format mask included with the GC-104.

A major difference between the cameras is the self-cocking shutter of the GC-105 that is activated by advancing the film (The GC-104 requires separate film advance and shutter cocking). The mechanical lens shutter design provides flash synchronization at all speeds up to 1/300 second and there is also Bulb exposure. This camera also features a cold flash shoe and PC terminal for external electronic flash connection.

Its lightweight simple design consists of a waist-level finder with pop-up magnifier, manual film crank advance and separate shutter speed and aperture levers.

The GC-109 has all the features of the GC-107 and includes a 4 element "picture taking lens" plus a shutter lock lever. The viewing lens is a 75mm f/2.8 lens made of 3 elements in 3 groups. This camera also features a cold flash shoe and PC terminal for external electronic flash connection. NOTE:

The GC-109 differs from the GC107 in two ways. First, the GC-109 has an improved four element lens. Second, the GC-109 aperture and shutter speed settings are set using two rotating dials - one on each side of the lens with the readings seen through a small window above the viewing lens. The GC107 uses two sliding levers - one on each side of the lens but does not have an available window for reading the chosen settings.
