HTC Corporation, previously known as the High-Tech Computer Corporation, based in Taiwan and manufacturers' smartphones and tablets. The company headquarters in New Taipei City, Taiwan. was organized in 1997.  HTC started as an formative design and equipment fabricator, designing and construction devices such as touchscreen phones, mobile phones, and PDAs primarily based upon Brew MP and Windows Mobile OS to the market mobile network promoters willing to hire a contract fabricator for custom products.

After at first manufacturing smartphones based mostly upon Windows Mobile, In 2009 HTC propagated its focus to devices based upon the Android, and then in 2010 to Microsoft Windows Phone. Starting in 2011, HTC basically releases and promotes its smartphones using the HTC banner, ranking number 98 for Interbrand’s Best Global Brands report in 2011. A 2013 media report showed HTC's portion of the smartphone market globally as being under 3 percent while its stock price had fallen as much as 90 percent after 2011.

A founding member belonging to the Open Handset Alliance, a congregation of mobile network operators and handset manufacturers focused on the fabrication of Android mobile devices arena. The HTC Dream, sold by T-Mobile in several countries as the Era G1, or T-Mobile G1 became the first smartphone on the marketplace to take advantage of the mobile Android device structure.
