Formerly Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corp., ZTE is a multinational Chinese telecommunications systems and equipment corporation with headquarters in Shenzhen, China. ZTE's primary products are wireless, access, exchange, data telecommunications device, optical transmission, telecommunications software and mobile phones. It also provides products that deliver value-added services, like streaming media and video on demand. ZTE primarily markets products using its own brand name but they are also an OEM. ZTE is in the top five of the largest smartphone makers in their home market, and worldwide they are among the top ten. They also manufacture tablet computers.
ZTE USA, with headquarters in Richardson, Texas, is a subsidiary of ZTE Company, a worldwide supplier of cell phones, telecommunications and enterprise solutions open since 1998. ZTE is positioned
as cost-efficient technology as the fourth-biggest supplier of cell phones in the U.S. generally, and second-biggest supplier of prepaid devices.
In August, 2011 The MF60 and ZTE MF80 4G mobile hotspots were released.
Microsoft announced at the Mobile World Congress is Spain in 2014, that ZTE became the newest hardware partner of the Windows Phone platform.
